New Rank Idea

Been tossing around the idea of a new rank. This would be a $35 rank, a choice of 4 colors for the name with a prefix of (DM) and come with its own /kit , more homes, more warps, more Xeebles on PayDay, and then I don't know what I would give them for bonus. They would have the DonatorMax benefits of course. This would be a non-discount rank, so full $35, which is why I want it to be somewhat uber in what the bonus's are.

 

Tell me if you think this is a bad idea, or good idea?  If you DO like the idea, let me know what we could give this rank for bonus and rewards. Think outside the box but not too far

 

Maybe like /speed  or some kind of daily giveout for that rank I dunno, help me out here

I like this as a donate rank, I guess.

For $35 dollars in no way would it become unique, a simple $15 dollars more is something a lot of people would probably pay.

Well it cant have to many good things or it'll be like staff commands!

since its $35 for the donator it should be near 2k - 3k ( 2.5k)

(some people might not buy it and say its a ripoff  but its there opinion so dont get mad at that )

I have been waiting for this for oh so long.

 

Ok, so, ideas.... well, I'm just going to take this time to suggest some new plugins... (this is assuming any 1.7 bukkit plugin will work with the spigot install):

 

 

First of all, you mentioned more homes, and anyone that knows me knows that's one of the top things I desire. If you need a plugin to manage such, this looks like a decent option:

Next, although this one is only 1.7.2 compatible, it likely should still work, and it is very close to being my all-time favorite plugin. It also allows for many rank-specific options and perks. Appleseed!

Third, this one is still in Beta, but also might allow for rank specific options, and we need one anyway (or at least some form of this):

As far as non-plugin ideas go... well, I've wanted the ability to do colored signs for a while, if that might be considered as an option. The ability to fly faster would definitely be a plus. I'm thinking, in addition, a rank-only world or building area would be nice, as that was an idea that many brought up in the past. That's all I have for now, hah, but I think this is a great idea.

Last I checked, AppleSeed works on our spigot builds. Forgot to add it back in it seems That lends for cool rank based tree options. The others I'll look into a bit and see. The holographic ones are blowing up on bukkit.org so there must be something really cool about em (end sarcasm)  Quite a bit to configure I will say that much.

 

The Rank based build world / etc  is a good idea and a lot of options reside with that as well. This won't be happening immediately as I need to work out the kinks IF this goes forward so keep the ideas coming!

A few ideas i can throw in,

-The ability to teleport to where the player is looking at by right clicking with a compass

-/kit consisting on enchanted tools

-The ability to create their own channel (limited to 1 per player)

-maybe discounted prices on regions, idk haha

An upper class rank is a good alternative.

 

My only question is the colours, it may/may not, confuse the new-comers to what rank you are, despite the (DM). As everyone has a different taste in colour, and therefore, the chat box may turn into a rainbow, instead of the uniform rank colours, presently active.

It's just a thought and my 2 cents, but

Just to clarify, I am worried about "rainbow" chat as well. What if we did something drastic?  Say...put everyone at the same color but add a colored (D) (D+) (DM) (DX) in front. Then we open up some more options. Staff would still be a colored name to make it easy to determine that they have a rank. I know it sounds like a bold move but it would allow us for future ranks/ideas and help keep the chat from looking like microwaved skittles....

One more rank color wouldn't hurt i guess, just don't give ranks a range of colors to choose from, like the current guide's rank.

Allow nether flight for the DU rank would actually be pretty cool. And I would ask for a single wolf spawn egg to be added to the kit. Something that doesn't devalue diamonds so much XD other than that the DU rank is actually a great idea and seems to be working great! Totally plan to upgrade sometime in the next few months.
