Hey guys! It's been awhile but we've been hard at work making some changes to the Minecraft server.
Things were getting pretty stagnant. It was unintentional at first but we have a fresh map with a new spawn. It's a simple one we downloaded but I think it'll help new players to have a spawn that is a lot less confusing.Â
Most of our normal server warps are already in including the new Admin shop made by our newest Admin, HX_Tink.Â
We have 2 other new staff members, Rtandbk and Kysdog are now Guides.
We are now using Towny in a new world you can get to from Spawn or /warp Towny.
For those who don't know, Towny is a land management plugin. It allows you to have a lot more control than a normal region does. You'll be able to choose if you have explosions, firespread, mob spawning, and pvp on or off.Â
It's a pretty big plugin so I'm not going to go over everything you can do in it, but I'll go over the basics and link the command list. If you're interested in more, there's a lot of YouTube videos explaining it.
The first thing you want to do when you join the Towny world is claim your first chunk. To do this, first make sure you have the 2,500x for your first chunk, then find a spot that is far enough out. You want somewhere with lots of room to expand. Each chunk is 16x16 bedrock to sky.Â
When you've found a good spot, type the command /town new townname.
Towns have daily taxes. So your next move is to deposit money into your town bank. A town will cost you 100x per day. If you don't have enough in your town bank for your daily upkeep, your town will be removed. This will revert the land back to how it was before you claimed it. So make sure your town bank always has money. If you take a break from playing, you need to plan ahead. 100x may sound like a lot but you can easily get that amount by killing around 20 mobs or selling a little over half a stack of gold ore to the atm.
You are now the mayor of a town. If you want to invite others to join your town you can do /town add playername. To remove someone do /town kick playername.
You can't automatically see where your borders are but you'll get a message when you leave/enter your town and you can add a wall/fence there.
At this point your town is only 16x16. Without adding members to your town you can make it up to 8 chunks. To add a chunk it will cost you 250x each.
Type /town map to see where your current chunks are.
You can type /town toggle settingname to toggle explosion/fire/mobs/public/pvp.
If you want to be able to use Mcmmo blast mining you'll need to have explosions and firespread both on.
